Crooked Creek is probably too small to do any fishing although it is full of minnows and is quite pretty. The famous Gasconade River is about five miles from the property and is a great river for fishing, floating and canoeing.
In this photo we have just crossed over Crooked Creek and taken a left on the gravel easement road which crosses over the property. The land is on both sides of the road in this photo. Also in this photo you can see the small spring which comes out of the hillside and feeds into the creek. This photo was taken in the middle of the summer when it was very dry but the little spring was still running (you can see the wet area where the spring crosses over the road).
The land is basically flat by the creek and rises up on the north and south as you move away from the creek.
The area is known for its wildlife, especially deer and turkey. Build a little cabin and you’ve got your own hunting and fishing retreat!
Here are the directions to the property so that you can check it out: From the four-way stop in Hartville go north for about half a mile then take a right onto Highway “Z”, stay on Highway “Z” for two miles and take a right onto Highway “E”, stay on Highway “E” for 3 1/2 miles then go left onto the gravel easement road. Take the gravel easement road for about 3/4 a mile to the property. When you visit the property PLEASE print out the maps we have provided as it can be tricky the first time you drive to the property.
