Deer hunting in this area is phenomenal. Turkey hunting is good as well but this area is specifically known for deer. This parcel sits towards the end of a gravel minimum maintenance road and is accessible with a four wheel drive truck or SUV.
There are several areas on the property which could be excellent sites for camping or building a cabin.
The 20 Acres
The 20 acres has two private driveways coming off of the private road with small cleared building/camping sites. The terrain on the property varies from level to rolling with the larger level areas being on the west side. There are several spots on the property which may be suitable for a large pond. The property was logged about 5-7 years ago and has since grown back with thousands of young trees (mostly oaks). There also are many large trees which were not cut when the parcel was logged.
The property measures about 660 feet north to south and about 1,320 feet east to west (slightly more on the south side). The parcel borders the Private Road along its entire east side.
A winter photo taken looking north down the Private Road. The land is on the left side of the road in this photo.
Directions to the property
To get to the property from Mountain View, Missouri, go south on Highway 17 for about five miles. Take a right (west) onto County Road 2660 which is a gravel road. Stay on 2660 for about two miles and it will take a sharp turn to the left, this is where you go RIGHT onto Private Road #2661. Now stay on 2661 for about one and a half miles and you will see the property on the left. Private Road #2661 is a minimum maintenance road. It is generally graded once a year or as necessary so that it is passable with a four wheel drive truck or suv. There is one fairly steep hill and at the bottom of the hill the road crosses over a creek bed which is dry almost all of the year. The Private Road dead-ends about 1/4 mile after the property so there is virtually no traffic, making for a very peaceful setting.
