Please note that like much of the land along the river this parcel is within the boundaries of the 100 year flood zone. There are several house nearby (and across) the river and the folks we talked to said they had never seen the water high enough to be on the land. Keep in mind, however, that if you build a large cabin or a home and you wish to obtain financing from a bank, the bank will almost certainly require you to buy flood insurance.
This tent is right next to the river (although about 6-8 feet above the water). There are several other spots on the property that would also make excellent private campsites.
Directions to the property
To get to the property from Thief River Falls go east on Highway 1 for eleven miles, then go south on County Road 22 for four miles. Now go east (left) onto County Road 6. Go EXACTLY half a mile on County Road 6 and then go south (right) onto the minimum maintenance Township Road which will take you to the property. Stay on the Township Road for half a mile then turn right and you are there. PLEASE be sure to print out all of the maps/directions before you visit the property as it can be a little tricky the first time. We will be happy to email you the maps/directions if you are not able to download them. ALSO PLEASE NOTE that it has been very cold and snowy in the Thief River Falls area over the last few weeks so if you plan to visit the property now be sure to drive your four wheel drive!
