The topo map above shows how the property is situated. The property is accessed off of the private gravel easement road (shown in green) which comes off of Highway 14. The property is the highest on the south side by the easement road. As you head to the north it slopes down (gradually) and is the lowest on its north side, where it borders a gravel creek bed.

This tract has multiple sites for building and camping and appears to have quite a bit of timber. Like all tracts at Hawk’s Roost this property was logged a couple of years ago. It was not clear cut and there is still timber remaining (as you can see from the videos).
Feel free to check out the property if you would like. From Mountain Grove, Missouri go south on Highway 95 for about 20 miles to Highway 14. Go east on Highway 14 for about 6-7 miles and then go north onto the gravel easement road that will take you to the property.

You can definitely hunt, camp and build on your property at Hawk’s Roost. You can camp on the property up to 45 days a year (but you can not live in a camper, tent, shed, etc.) – See the Deed Assurances for details.
As with all of the properties that we sell, there is a 100 foot setback from all shared roadways (highway, county road and easement roads) for utility purposes. This ensures that you will have access to power and phone if/when you need it. The utility easement along the sides/back of each property is 30 feet. Also please note that timber with a stump diameter larger than 8 inches may not be cut, sold or removed until the property has been paid for in full (we can give written exceptions for creating building sites and driveways).
The easement roads within Hawk’s Roost are minimum maintenance roads so a truck or an suv is always highly recommended. The extra few inches of clearance that you have in a truck or an suv could be helpful if there are rough spots in the road.
This property is VERY close to the Mark Twain National Forest as well as the North Fork River. The Mark Twain National Forest (shown as the green shaded area on the map above) is open for public hunting and recreation which gives you over 50,000 acres of additional land to use and enjoy!
This large tract is within driving distance to numerous small towns and is only about 1 1/2 hours from Springfield, which is the largest city in southern Missouri.
