The property is located about 5 miles southwest of Mountain View, Missouri and about 15 miles north of West Plains, Missouri. This tract is subject to the 6 basic Deed Assurances as shown on our website (no mobile homes, etc.). In order to be used as a residence, homes or cabins built on the property must have a minimum concrete foundation size of 600 square feet (a simple 20 X 30 cabin would meet this requirement).
Since no permits or inspections are required to build, we have found that two reasonably skilled people can put up a 20 X 30 cabin shell in about 2 weeks (you never have to wait around for the inspector). Portable buildings are permitted for camping and storage but not for a permanent residence (unless permanently attached to a 600 square foot foundation).

The topo map above shows how the property “lays”. It is fairly level on the east side by the easement road. As you go back toward the west the property slopes from “north to south” but the private driveway seems to take you several hundred feet into the property to the point where it all levels out. As you continue to go westerly from the middle of the property, it begins to slopes down.
In the photo above we are parked at the start of the cleared driveway which leads to the building/camping site. Along this private driveway is where you will find the remnants of the very old rock wall.
To get to Whitetail Crossing from Mountain View, Missouri just go south out of town on Highway 17 for about 3 1/2 miles then go west onto County Road 2800. Go about 2 miles and when County Road 2800 takes a sharp turn to the right (north) you will go left (south) onto the private road that serves Whitetail Crossing. Please keep in mind that since we just recently got these properties the private road has not yet been graded and cleaned up. Although you could probably make it in a car it may be better to take a truck or an suv.
