Private wooded acreage in an area well known for deer and turkey! This large 10 acre tract is located in Howell County, Missouri between the towns of Mountain View, Missouri and West Plains, Missouri. Not only can you hunt, camp and explore on your own private 10 acres, the property is also just a short drive to thousands of acres of National Forest which can also be used for hunting, camping and recreation. Several great rivers and creeks are within about a half hour from the property as well.
This 10 acre tract is on the south side of a beautiful area called Whitetail Crossing. The property has good access on a private gravel road which is only for the use of property owners and their guests. The road dead ends at the south side of Whitetail Crossing so the area is very private. This is Tract 13 at Whitetail Crossing. This tract is fully surveyed and is 10 acres in size.
In the aerial photo above we are looking northerly and the land is on the right side of the road. The red truck is parked near the start of the private driveway on the property.

There are multiple areas on the property that could be suitable for building, camping or hunting. Tract 13 offers many different building and camping opportunities.

Please refer to our interactive map above for additional property views and information. Please note that the boundary lines and measurements are approximate. This interactive map is fairly new for us and if you have a chance we would love to have your feedback on it. Is it awesome? Is it great? Is it confusing? We would like to know!
Also, please note that on the interactive map it seems to work best if you click the “View Full Screen” option. Once you are in the “Full Screen” option you can select “Topo” to see a topographic map which does a good job of showing how the property is situated. It is fairly level on the west side by the private road and it slopes down toward the east side which is where a small creek bed crosses the property. This would be a “wet weather” creek that would run only part of the year.
In the photo above we are parked by the private driveway on the easement road at the west side of Tract 13.
The property is located about 6 miles southwest of Mountain View, Missouri and about 15 miles north of West Plains, Missouri. There is a HUGE tract of National Forest just a few miles to the west (shown on the map below). The property is private and secluded (with an amazing amount of wildlife) but is also within driving distance of several nice towns.
The map above shows the location of the property. It is also less than two hours to Springfield and Branson, Missouri.

The map above shows the route to the property from Mountain View, Missouri.
This tract is subject to the 6 basic restrictions as shown on our website (no mobile homes, etc.). Homes or cabins built on the property must have a minimum concrete foundation size of 600 square feet (a simple 20 X 30 cabin would meet this requirement). Portable buildings are permitted for camping and storage but not for a permanent residence (unless they are at least 600 square feet and permanently attached to a 600 square foot foundation).

In the photo above we are standing at the start of the private driveway at the property, facing north. You can see the gravel easement road on the left.
Close-up aerial map of the property. It is about 250 feet north to south, about 1,550 feet east to west on the north side and about 1,800 feet east to west on the south side. There is a 100 foot setback from the centerline of the private drive for road and utility purposes.
To get to Whitetail Crossing from Mountain View, Missouri just go south out of town on Highway 17 for about 3 1/2 miles then go west onto County Road 2800. Go about 2 miles and when County Road 2800 takes a sharp turn to the right (north) you will go left (south) onto the private road that serves Whitetail Crossing. If it has been raining the road could be wet so a truck or suv would be better (in the rain).
Please feel free to go and check out the property. You will definitely want to print out all of the maps we have provided before visiting the property. If you would like us to email you all of the maps and pictures just let us know. Feel free to walk around or to bring your four wheeler to do some exploring. Power and phone are within about a mile. We had good cell service (AT&T and Verizon are two two we tried) on all of the tracts at Whitetail Crossing.
If you are coming from Springfield, MO (from the west) it is probably quicker to go south onto Highway “V” off of Highway 60. It will turn into County Road 2710. Go east onto County Road 2800 and proceed to the private road into Whitetail Crossing.
This is one of those rare investment opportunities upon which you can create lifelong memories with family and friends.
