You will want to download the “MapRight” app to your phone or tablet before you visit the property, as it will make things go smoothly on your first trip (just follow the directions in the tutorial).
Much of the west side of the property is very steep coming off of the county road BUT there is a section at the southwest side of the property where it is level enough to drive onto the west side of the property. From this small level area, the property rises up as you move toward the National Forest.
The topo map above shows the “lay of the land”. It rises up steeply along most of the road frontage but we did find a nice location at the southwest corner of the property that may be an excellent spot for making a driveway or trail into the property. It rises up as you go east and then it levels out in the center where you will find a very large level area. As you continue going east from the center the property slopes down (fairly gradually) as you come to the National Forest.
This property DIRECTLY borders the Mark Twain National Forest. This is a rare opportunity to have excellent access onto THOUSANDS of acres of land, right at your doorstep. The National Forest can be used for hunting, camping, trail riding, fishing and canoeing (in the numerous creeks and rivers) as well as other recreational activities.
If you have been looking for a nice tract of land for a while then you already know how hard it is to find acreage adjoining public land. This property is one of the VERY FEW tracts we have had with direct frontage on the National Forest. This is one of the ONLY tracts we have ever had that has direct frontage on a County Maintained Road AND the National Forest.
There are only about 20 tracts at Turkey Hollow and they seldom come onto the market (only some of the tracts at Turkey Hollow have National Forest frontage). Here’s a great chance to grab one of the largest tracts at Turkey Hollow AND have direct access into the National Forest!
The map above shows the route to the property from the town of Birch Tree, Missouri.
This property is private and secluded (with an amazing amount of wildlife) but is also within driving distance of several nice towns. Birch Tree, Winona and Mountain View, Missouri are all within about 20 minutes of the property (Mountain View has the all-important Wal-Mart).

Map showing the location of the property within the Ozarks. Excellent location, under two hours to Springfield, MO and Branson, MO. Also only about half a day’s drive to Kansas City and even closer to St. Louis.
This tract is subject to the basic property covenants as shown on our website (no mobile homes, etc.). Homes or cabins built on the property must have a minimum concrete foundation size of 600 square feet (a simple 20 X 30 cabin would meet this requirement).
You do NOT need to build a structure at all in order to use and enjoy this property! Also, portable buildings and small structures are fine for hunting/camping and temporary usage. Camp, hunt and relax on this large private acreage.

This property has both direct frontage on County Road 421 and ALSO directly borders the Mark Twain National Forest. On the photo above (taken with the drone) we are looking directly down toward the west side of the property (the truck is parked on the county road at the property’s west side).
This property is in the heart of a popular recreational area. People travel from all over the country to hunt, fish, camp and play in this area! The popular Eleven Point River is just a few miles to the south. The equally popular Jack’s Fork River is just a few miles to the north. The Jack’s Fork River flows east through the town of Eminence which is nationally known for trail rides, canoeing and tubing. You will not get bored around here.
Directions to the property:
From the town of Birch Tree (on the south side of Highway 60 you will also see a Dollar General store which is a good landmark) go east exactly 2.4 miles and then go north (left) onto County Road 452. County Road 452 curves right and then you IMMEDIATELY go left onto a gravel road, which is County Road 421. Go 1 1/4 miles to the “T” in the road. Go right at the “T” and go another 3/4’s of a mile and you will come down to the bottom of a small hill. You have just entered the south side of Turkey Hollow! Proceed about 1/2 mile and you will see Tract 11 on the right side (east side) of the road.
As we mentioned earlier, if you download the free MapRight app it will make it very easy to find and explore the property. Feel free to go check out the property and walk all around.
